Solved a tricky bunion fit the shops wouldn’t touch
I bought a ski boot punch from you last week to punch out the bunion area in my wife's boots. This was on a pair of Atomic Live Fit boots that already have stretchy rubber inserts in the bunion areas of the lower shell and have a dual compound shell – clear and opaque plastic. The local shops refused to try a punch due to the construction.
Used your punch and spot heated to 250°F with a small heat gun and punched the opaque part of the shell right above the rubber inserts.
Worked out perfectly! My wife said it feels great, no pain or pressure.
Gentle curve, about 5mm extra room at center of bunion.

Will it work on my boots?
BootForge works on any alpine and touring shells. If you have a very unusual boot and you're still not sure, contact us and we’ll help you confirm.
Do I need a heat gun?
No, but heat is required, so you need either a heat gun or a hair dryer in order to heat your shell. This helps the shell stretch and hold the shape permanently, a punch works by softening (not melting) the shell and applying force with the punch tool
Is it safe to do this myself?
Yes, it's very safe. Follow our guide and you won't mess anything up and there's no risk of damage to your boots using our technique. Extreme Heat can damage boots if misused, but we are not melting the boot shell - just softening it, force is the other element and it's why we don't need to melt the shell
Why not just go to a shop?
Shops are great but no one knows your fit like you do, and shops come with a premium price costing thousands of dollars over a few years. One punch at a shop can be as much as our whole kit, so the complete fit control and lifetime value are huge. P.S. there are a bunch of shops using our punch kit, it's easier to use
